Hora de Chisme: Wait, I'm going where?

Hey Boos!
Welcome back to a little life update. I originally was posting them as "life updates" and then I decided to change them to "Chisme" but now I'm changing them again as "Hora de Chisme." I know, I'm so indecisive. But lately there's been so many things going on with my life both positive and negative. & I feel like I haven't posted a Life Update since before I left to Mexico. Its been 2 months since. So, hello and welcome to la Hora de Chisme.

So Mexico came and left, My bithday, Vegas, and Graduations all came and left. Now, I want to tell you guys some of the things that happened in between all of them and what's currently going on now and what will be happening the next couple of months.

Back to the beginning of March, I was going through some difficult times, depression. It was so tough trying to get out the slumped. What helped me was all the events I had going on these past couple of months. March, April and May were extremely busy! Busy from all my school work, family and friends socials and my blog. I was happy being busy, but now that its almost done I've been feeling a little on edge, but things got a little better as you'll read.

During it all, I was feeling "done" with everyone and everything. Everyone had me all types of f*cked up. I dealt with it in a way I usually don't, I put it out there. If you read my Petty? Shade? Straight up? post, then you know what I'm talking about. Well, since that day believe it or not I've been feeling so much better about all my friendships. All my one sided friendships are out the window! & honestly I feel so much happier knowing that some toxic people aren't in my life no more. Point of my story is don't hold anything in because that will make you feel bitter, trust!

Also, in the beginning of the month of May my lovely pledge sister Monica texted me in the middle of the night saying "Can we go to Miami after New York?" Like first of all, you wild! We started talking about it and the next day we mentioned it to another pledge sister Margarita and decided we were going to go to New York. Later on we mentioned it to the rest, but they weren't down because they had plans already. So Monica, Margarita and I will be going to New York in August from 1st-8th. Our flights have been booked but our hotel hasn't, and yes we leave in 2 months! So pray for us.

In the middle of the month of May, I received an email from SJSU something about my LOA (absence of leave). That story is long and complicated, trust me! But after sooooooo many emails, phone calls and meetings, the last week of May it became official, I will be coming back to SJSU in the Fall as a Economics major. I met with an advisor in the Econ department to go over the classes and talked about some things. I got the famous signature and she guided me through everything. I cried. Never in my entire time in SJ I received so much guidance like I did that day; I was so overwhelmed (happy overwhelmed) that I cried.  So, yeah I will be coming back to SJSU in the Fall. Also, if you're looking for a roommate or know anyone that is or knows where there are open apartments then holla at my line. (:

Now with me coming back in the Fall, I have to take a summer course. I will be taking a summer course from 8am-12:50pm. So, more than half of my summer I will be busy. But I also, want you guys to know that making the decision to come to state was probably one of the hardest decisions of my life. I was constantly asking for peoples opinions, loosing sleep and crying. You would've thought it was an easy decision, but it really wasn't. I just know its going to be hard to readjust and come back, but I'm all for it.

For my blog, things will change too. I will probably be posting less once I go back to San Jose only because I want to focus more on my studies. But I will not let the blog go entirely I will still be posting, but just not as much.

Almost everyone that I know are done with their school year expect for me. After this I will be done by June 7th. So until then I will be somewhat M.I.A trying to get my life back together. I will not be working on blogs until then, so maybe expect one by June 8th-10th?

That will be it for today's Hora de Chisme, so Hello June and I will see you all in a little.

Hora de Chisme: Summer Edition Life Update

Family and friends its been a cool minute, so you know what time it is.....
HORA DE CHISME

The last time I posted my "Hora de Chisme" was 8 months ago, November 2017 and sadly it wasn't very juicy. However not saying this post will be juicy but I will be more of an update.

So lets summarized what's been going on:
I came out of hiatus post: I talked about how I was caught up on my life and how I was going to start working on myself.
Summer 18 Bucket List post: Besides me mentioning my bucket list I also mentioned that I was planning to take a  summer course and possibly work two jobs.

Lets talk what has happened in the past month and half.

I am currently still being caught up on my life in the way that I'm always busy doing something, (in a good way) and I'm still working on myself, (there's some progress). Now for my Summer 18 Bucket List, that has gone down the drain pretty much. Once school was over, I found myself with a whole lot of spare time; which can be a good and a bad thing. A bad thing for me and the worst part was that the hours at work began to get cut, so that meant less money.

The last two weeks of May, I began packing for my trip back home and on my free time I binged watch Netflix: The Ranch, Dynasty, and The Office all great shows (I recommend them). From June 6th to the 11th it was spent in SoCal. In my Weekend Festivities, I talked about how fun it was because it was, but that is because I let the positive override the negative. That weekend was crazy to be completely honest. It was a mixture of my family and friends (roommates and back home friends), I will not get into details of exactly happened, but the only thing that irritated me the most was that I never got an apology of what happened that weekend. It was the most embarrassing thing ever, but at this point I don't care anymore (lesson learned).

So when I went back home with my roommates to ME it was not the same vibes. I felt San Jose as a negative environment as soon as I went back and I knew it was not going to go well. But I knew I had to stick with it because I couldn't runaway from it, but the next day that same Tuesday I went through somethings and I wasn't emotionally stabled; which effected me right after. On June 13th, I called my mom and basically had a mental breakdown saying I did not want to be in San Jose anymore. The only thing my mom told me was, "if you want to come home you can and we can make things work if not then we'll see, but you can decided on your own and just let me know what you decided." At that moment, I was like wow, yeah I cannot go home I have a job and I'm taking a summer course and I need to pay bills.

But Gorl! As soon as I walk into work I see the new updated schedule and hours were cut even more like HELL NAH. Hours were so cut back for me that I calculated and I would not even have enough to pay rent or I would pay rent and that was it. So, I talked to my manager and I put my two weeks in that night. Fast forward to the day I was coming home June 25th: I felt happier and more relived knowing I was in a somewhat more positive environment. I began applying to jobs and days later my uncle ended up hiring and now I work with him. Working with family and men can be something else. Work can be a pain in the ass for me because 1. I'm not used to working 40+ a week. 2. I'm not used to wake up at 5am Monday-Friday and 3. I'm not used to the heavy work. But oh how has this experience humbled me and I'm thankful for it.

Long Story Short: I'm only working one job, no summer courses, I'm back home (The Valley) and I'm happier.

Lets talk about my blog.

Recently I've been going into debate on whether or not I want to continue this. I even took it to twitter and I got a lot of "Nos! and Whys?"  I love my blog although by the looks of it you can say otherwise, ha. But to be completely honest, I have no ideas. I don't feel motivated.  I don't know what to blog about anymore. I feel like the only thing I like talking about without hesitation is about 'life' but I don't want it to be a repetitive thing? I sometimes feel like my posts can be negative like "Woah, Liz are you okay?" You know ? Which is why I changed the theme of my blog months ago. It used to be La Vida De Lizzy | Beauty, Food, Reviews & Lifestyle to now just Lifestyle. And yes, before you start asking I'm fine. :) So we are still a work in progress.

Lets talk about how the rest of the year is going to look like.

In a month I will be going back to San Jose to finish off my last year at SJSU... Real talk I am scared shitless. I know this is going to be one stressful af year I can already feel it (dramatic? I know). I will also be starting a new job (hopefully no more retail, fingers crossed). I will definitely be more busy and stress, but I'm excited. I'm also slowly learning how to budget, so let's see how that goes. There's not much to be excited about for the remaining of the year, but I'm excited, does that make sense? '
'
OOOOH I also cut my hair....okay bye for now.

Until then, you'll hear from me soon!

Chisme: Where have I been? & I need new friends?

Haaaaaaaaiiiiiii, quick little life update! I missed last weeks blog, because I didn't have an ideas. *I'm not creative, fyi*

Now, I'm trying to make last weeks since it got a bit crazy. Ever since I got my period I've been hella emotional, yeah I said it... I don't care! My emotional butt, had to study for an exam; which I don't want to talk about. I also been working on my resume, because my funds are running low. *inserts crying face emoji* & to top it off I have to wake up a extra early tomorrow because I have to register for Spring Semester. It may not seem like a lot, but sometimes I like be dramatic, *eye roll*
So let me be.

If you guys didn't know I have Monthly Goals that I had set at the very beginning of the year; so let's see how I did for this month...

Month of January Goals:
-Write your thoughts/fears/updates/anything of how the year 2017 will be.
-Become an early riser.
-Explore a new place
  • My first goal, was successful. My first blog of the year was about a New year, new mindset; where I talked about my thoughts/fears/updates here
  • Second goal, has been successful. Back in San Jose I used to wake up between 10am-1pm. I know its such a huge gap, but honestly I had the worst sleeping schedule of my life!! Now I wake up anytime between 7:30am-8:30am, & yes I know that may not be early for many of you guys, but to me....BOY is it early!
  • So far I have not explore a new place but I still have 6 days left in the month, So give me a break.

Also this week... Happy Belated Birthday to My P.mommy Nancy! Belated not because I didn't know her birthday, which I do January 23rd. Belated because of the blog. Also, she turned 23 on the 23rd. *winky face* She is also super friendly *smirky face* , hilarious, and probably the worst driver ever! So don't be afraid to wish her a Happy Belated Birthday and to follow her on social media. ♥

Lastly for tonight, I am currently looking for friends, *eye emoji* Not saying that I don't have any because I do... I'm just looking for people that are down for anything really, lol. This year I'm trying to go to concerts/raves, sport events, hiking/camping, road trips, and things like that but my friends don't have time or they don't like specific things, lol. But if you're willing to go get dinner or anything really, hit me up. *sad life*

Hora de Chisme: Everything is a work in progress.

Hi everyone and welcome back to another life update. The last Hora de Chisme, I posted was two months ago, so I felt like I needed to sneak one in before things got a little hectic.

Two months ago, I touched on two important topics that were happening in my life. One of the topics was that I'm traveling to New York and another one is moving back to San Jose. Although, this is what Hora de Chisme is going to focus on today; I also want to go into more details about it and sneak somethings.

I am currently getting my things ready for both New York and San Jose. I will be leaving to NY August 1st-8th. Also I want I add in that Monica will not be traveling with us, due to personal reasons; so, it will only be Magz and I. Yes, the itinerary is done and its going to be freaking crazy. I'm already tired and all I've done is buy the things I need for the trip. Now when I come back from the trip, I'll start my packing because I'm heading back to San Jose on August 12th. With a heavy heart, this will be the last weekend here at home with my family until I'll be able to come back and something tells me it won't be soon. Since I'll only be home for three days after my trip; I need to fit in so many things with such a short time span. So, I'm hoping for the best.

I recently cleaned out the garage looking for my things from San Jose and I only found one small box. So, I'm on the hunt for the rest of my boxes. I will be moving to an apartment; which means I have to do some apartment shopping once I get back to SJ. I will be living with Yahaira, Margarita, and Danika. My actual roommate is Danika and I'm really excited to meet her. Yahaira and Margarita are my pledge sisters, so I know how they are. No biggy.

So in the beginning of July, my old manager texted me if I wanted my old job back and I said yes of course! But unfortunately due to construction the store is closing down and everyone is being moved around. At that moment, I thought I had to look for a new job, but I was so fortunate because she had basically three jobs for me and all I had to do was choose. Which is the reason why I'm going to San Jose early. Your girl has to go to work early.

Within the 8 months I was here at home I learned SO much. I learned more about myself, school, and relationships. I learned that I put myself in a funk. I wouldn't say its all in my head, but some things really don't need a reaction and somethings are not even important to acknowledge. Sometimes I just have to get up and do it, you know what I'm saying? And I know in the past I've talked about how I go through stages where I'm perfecting fine and the next thing you know I'm not. With that being said for the sake of myself I will be attending counseling and that is something big because I always been against it. But its something I need. Now to school. I learned that I have to put more effort than I usually do and how I said earlier sometimes I just need to get up and do it. Over the summer I would wake up around 5:45am three days out of the week to drive to my summer course that started at 8am. Now let me tell you, that's dedication! Back then I wouldn't even go to my 9am class living on campus. It was so bad back then, but I realized that I need my education. I can't just sit around and be lazy. With that beginning said, I will be doing school goals for each month of the semester. Similar to the monthly goals I'm doing now, but obviously dealing with school. Now relationships. I'll say this once and keep it nice and short: one sided friendships/relationships need to end.

Lately, I've been so happy. Although things are not always falling into place I'm starting to feel like some weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I don't dwell on things so much either because everything happens to fast that all I really can do I is focus on myself if there's nothing I can do about it. I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but things got better and will continue to do better. Thank you!

That will be it for today's Hora de Chisme and of course I'll see you soon.

Hora De Chisme: Quarantine Edition 2020

Its been 7 months since my last post.  Nothing new, you know?  So, let's do a little update with everyone's favorite...

Hora De Chisme

To start off, in October we lost a family member, but everything and everyone is good.  During that time the family was more united than ever.  Also in October, I dealt with a personal health issue.  I'm currently still dealing with it and learning how to live with it.  I'm okay, but it was something I wasn't expecting at that time.

In November, Luis & I became engaged.  The engagement was everything!!  It was only us two up in the woods.  It was nice and quiet, however, I just wish we had someone there to take pictures.  Nonetheless, it was perfect.  Soon after, all we did was the wedding planning.  We had planned to have our wedding in March until Covid-19 happened.  November to March was nothing, but stressful times.  We ended up postponing the wedding, until when? Good question, we don't know.  But of course, the wedding is still happening.

However, we still ended up moving in like we had planned.  Luis & I started a Youtube Channel, called Luis and Lizz, where we showed a little tour of our home.  Living together is something normal to me because we get along so well.  Of course, there are little things that I'm not used to, but we get through it and work together.  A new thing for me was waking up early, making lunch, and dinner daily.  But I mean here we are 2 months in and we are doing perfectly fine.  However, our YouTube fun has come to an end.  Luis & I decided to take a break from it, hopefully, we'll be back soon.  Me on the other hand, I want to start my own YouTube Channel and I think I just might.  I loved the whole concept of creating the thumbnails, content, and editing although I sucked at all of it.  It brought me so much joy and it reminded me of my blog.  I missed it so much, I truly did.  I want to get back to it and I hope I can stick them out!  Sometimes I just get lost in the sauce (life).

Towards the end of March, we found out that someone close to me has cancer.  It was something very hard for me.  I never know how to react.  I still don't know.  That person has been doing chemo, but unfortunately, cancer has been growing and not slowing it down.  It's hard because I would love to visit, but with this quarantine and the condition, I wouldn't want to run any risks.  I call here and there to see how he's doing, but it's not the same.  I hope and pray everything gets better.  Now fast-forwarding to the beginning of the month, I lost a family member due to Covid-19,  it hurt me but I'm doing better now.  My biggest concern was the ones that it was going to affect.  But all in all, the entire family is doing well and hoping for better days.

Now how is quarantine for me?
Biiiiiitch, I hate it.  Well I did at the beginning, but you know almost two months in I'm already used to it.  I wasn't used to being home 24/7 and not having a car.  I felt since the move I've been stripped away from my freedom, but that's because I have no car ):  But then I think to myself, why would I want to have a car if all the stores are closed?  Ugh, I hate it here.  My manz takes me out every other day or depending on the day of course because he knows I cannot be locked in.  I try to find things to do around the house but its always the same things.  I'm hoping now that I have free time, I can pick up a hobby or two.  I just hate that, I want to go to Ross, Marshalls, and Homegoods but I can't.  Like I'm sorry but we didn't have time to do home shopping.  I know what you're thinking "you can order online" yes I know that, but is it the same?  Tell me, is it the same to go to the store and feel the material?  Test out the product? Nooooooo it's not.  So until then, we will have to live without couches.   But yes I know its not the end of the world.  I just want couches that's it, but two months and how I said, I'm already used to it.

What have I learned during quarantine?
I've learned so much about myself in both positive and negative.  My patience has become so much better than how it used to be.  I learned that this is the time to invest in myself.  I love baking and creating things in the kitchen whether they come out bomb af or just okay.  We recently bought so many baking items, I cannot wait to play with.  I also began looking into potentially going to grad school and getting my masters.  Its something I'm still thinking about and seeing if its the right fit for me.  There are some things up in the air.  I'm also in my head a lot during this quarantine.  Unfortunately, it's winning.  I feel like I'm more negative towards/about myself.  I'm my own enemy and I'm trying how to deal with that.  I think that is why I have been a little m.i.a in life.  I also know that I can't stick to anything because I've been told and as much I hate to say it but its true.  I cannot stick it out.  I don't know why.  I'm hoping to learn about myself more in order to help myself out.  I also hope I can be healthier for myself.

Okay, I know what you're thinking... Lizz this is not juicy at all... Well, I'm sorry my life isn't so interesting.  I actually did a post I believe in January and it was so RAW and so WOW, but I decided not to post it because I didn't want to deal with the consequences.  However,  I do want to say that you'll be seeing more of me on here ;)  I'm dedicated to posting more frequently on here.  I'm still thinking which days to post but until that's figured out, expect random posts from me (:

Thank you for taking the time to read.  How has quarantine life been treating you? Any new hobbies? Please feel free to share them.

Lizzeth.
