Hora de Chisme: Wait, I'm going where?

Hey Boos!
Welcome back to a little life update. I originally was posting them as "life updates" and then I decided to change them to "Chisme" but now I'm changing them again as "Hora de Chisme." I know, I'm so indecisive. But lately there's been so many things going on with my life both positive and negative. & I feel like I haven't posted a Life Update since before I left to Mexico. Its been 2 months since. So, hello and welcome to la Hora de Chisme.

So Mexico came and left, My bithday, Vegas, and Graduations all came and left. Now, I want to tell you guys some of the things that happened in between all of them and what's currently going on now and what will be happening the next couple of months.

Back to the beginning of March, I was going through some difficult times, depression. It was so tough trying to get out the slumped. What helped me was all the events I had going on these past couple of months. March, April and May were extremely busy! Busy from all my school work, family and friends socials and my blog. I was happy being busy, but now that its almost done I've been feeling a little on edge, but things got a little better as you'll read.

During it all, I was feeling "done" with everyone and everything. Everyone had me all types of f*cked up. I dealt with it in a way I usually don't, I put it out there. If you read my Petty? Shade? Straight up? post, then you know what I'm talking about. Well, since that day believe it or not I've been feeling so much better about all my friendships. All my one sided friendships are out the window! & honestly I feel so much happier knowing that some toxic people aren't in my life no more. Point of my story is don't hold anything in because that will make you feel bitter, trust!

Also, in the beginning of the month of May my lovely pledge sister Monica texted me in the middle of the night saying "Can we go to Miami after New York?" Like first of all, you wild! We started talking about it and the next day we mentioned it to another pledge sister Margarita and decided we were going to go to New York. Later on we mentioned it to the rest, but they weren't down because they had plans already. So Monica, Margarita and I will be going to New York in August from 1st-8th. Our flights have been booked but our hotel hasn't, and yes we leave in 2 months! So pray for us.

In the middle of the month of May, I received an email from SJSU something about my LOA (absence of leave). That story is long and complicated, trust me! But after sooooooo many emails, phone calls and meetings, the last week of May it became official, I will be coming back to SJSU in the Fall as a Economics major. I met with an advisor in the Econ department to go over the classes and talked about some things. I got the famous signature and she guided me through everything. I cried. Never in my entire time in SJ I received so much guidance like I did that day; I was so overwhelmed (happy overwhelmed) that I cried.  So, yeah I will be coming back to SJSU in the Fall. Also, if you're looking for a roommate or know anyone that is or knows where there are open apartments then holla at my line. (:

Now with me coming back in the Fall, I have to take a summer course. I will be taking a summer course from 8am-12:50pm. So, more than half of my summer I will be busy. But I also, want you guys to know that making the decision to come to state was probably one of the hardest decisions of my life. I was constantly asking for peoples opinions, loosing sleep and crying. You would've thought it was an easy decision, but it really wasn't. I just know its going to be hard to readjust and come back, but I'm all for it.

For my blog, things will change too. I will probably be posting less once I go back to San Jose only because I want to focus more on my studies. But I will not let the blog go entirely I will still be posting, but just not as much.

Almost everyone that I know are done with their school year expect for me. After this I will be done by June 7th. So until then I will be somewhat M.I.A trying to get my life back together. I will not be working on blogs until then, so maybe expect one by June 8th-10th?

That will be it for today's Hora de Chisme, so Hello June and I will see you all in a little.

May's Monthly Goals

Hey Lovely Readers
I am back with another monthly goals for the month of May. I felt like I haven't done one of these in forever, but then I remember I didn't have goals for the month of April. Pero like May is now over and well lets see if I even achieved one...

May Monthly Goals:
-Get a job.
-Pay off at least 1 credit card.
-Explore a new place.

  • Get a job? Okay, I know I have no real excuses besides the fact that I'm lazy for still not having a job. But also, I made these goals not knowing what were going to be my plans. The month of May was beyond crazy from traveling to Vegas and San Jose but as well as going to Chris Brown Concert and to Graduations & as well getting sick. PLUS I had to balance out school as well. I didn't have time! *crying face* But trust me its changing in the month of June.  Month of May was a no go for this goal.
  • Haha, so at the beginning of the year I had 3 credit cards. & By April I had closed down 2 and I was left with the one that had the most credit. & In the month of May, I decided to ask for more credit AND I even opened a whole new card. So I technically did pay off 2 credit cards, but then I opened another one. Does that count?
  • Month of May was about explore new places! It all started with Asi Es Jalisco Birrieria, to Vegas, to the SAP Center, and other restaurants throughout the month.

Don't know what monthly goals are? What they are & why I do them.
January Monthly goals: here.
February Monthly goals: here.
March Monthly goals: here.

Feelings: The more and more I do my monthly goals, the more I feel like a failure and disappointed. My objective and goal is to actually achieve them, but noooo I fail to do so. Let's hope the month of June goes way better.

Concert || Party Tour: Chris Brown, Fabolous, OT Genasis & More.

My big is days away from walking the stage & for her graduation I gifted her tickets to see Chris Brown in concert. On May 18th at the SAP Center we attended the Party Tour. Originally the show was to begin at 7:30 pm and then pushed it back til 8:00 pm, but in reality it did not start until 8:15 pm. While we waited for the show to start, we grabbed some snacks and looked for our seats.

Flier

So, when I first purchased the tickets the line up was: Chris Brown, 50 Cent, Fabolous, O.T Genasis and Kap G. Little we I know 50 Cent had canceled months ago. I mean eyyy its all good. At the beginning they had an opener that I did not catch his name and a DJ. It was a love hate thing with the DJ. They played "slaps" but only for a good 10 seconds just to hype you up and change it to the next song. It was frustrating.

Opening Acts
Chris Brown had 5 performers before him including the opener with the DJ. The first opening act was rapper: Casanova. See, when I first heard it was him I thought I knew some songs but I was wrong. I did not know who this guy was & to make it worse I could not understand a word he was saying. I was vibing to the beats though,  Casanova was on staged for a brief 10 minutes. The second rapper was: Kap G. Ever heard of 'Girlfriend'?

"I just took a flick with your girlfriend. I been kickin; shit your girlfirend. I just..."

Well if you know that song then you know who I'm talking about. Unfortunately, I still could not understand a word he was saying. & that was the only song I knew of him. WELP. The third rapper was: O.T Genasis. In my opinion he sounded way better than Casanova and Kap G. But O.T Genasis is known in my book for CoCo and Cut It

"I'm in love with the coco (coco, coco). I'm in love with the coco (coco, coco). I got it for the low low. I'm in love with the coco (coco, coco)."
&
"Cut it, cut it, cut it, cut it. Cut it, cut it, cut it, cut it. Them bricks is way too hot, you need to cut it. Your price is way too high, you need to cut it"

If you know these songs then you know who I'm talking about. & at this point, I was starting to get into the concerts vibe. & the fourth rapper was: Fabolous. I don't think no one understands how excited I was for him to come on stage. I've listened to him since I was young. All his old songs were my jam! & lucky for me he performed all of my favorite songs. "Baby Don't Go. You Be Killin' Em. Can't Let You Go. Into You. & Make Me Better" I sang my lungs out to these songs. I was in love! & The fact that you can ACTUALLY hear what he was saying was the cherry on top. & if you don't know ANY of these songs; then I don't know what to say.

Chris Breezy
The man of the hour: Chris Brown. His entrance on stage was amazing! He came in semi flying. He had strings attached, so he was doing air flips and all this crazy nonsense. The entire time he performed, I felt like I was at the VMAs. He put on a SHOW. He even stripped for us. He played a good mixture of his old stuff and current new songs. Out of his entire performance there was probably one song I didn't know, but other than that you know I was singing my lungs out and vibing. I will say this, he took 2 breaks throughout his performance. His breaks were roughly 5 minutes each so it wasn't all that bad. He was everywhere around the stage! I loved it! If you have the chance of going to a Chris Brown concert, take it! & His dancing was >>>.

Mini Drama Time: In the middle of the concert my Big accidentally pumped into a girls arm. She taped her arm and apologized and somehow the girl managed to drop her phone off a tap. I didn't know what was going on, I just knew they were looking for something. & out of nowhere the girl says "you better find my phone or you'll buy me a new one" & In my head I was like "Oh hell nah, wheres your phone?" Next thing you know 3 rows were looking for this girls phone. & her attitude was getting nastier by the minute. I was worried she was trying to fight my Big. & not going to lie, but I was ready to throw hands, haha. BUT luckily we found her phone. We were all good. My now my thing is, "do you know hold onto your phone tight? & why do you have to be so close to us that you got hit by an elbow?" Only reason is because she was a seat away; so we all had room, smh.  haha.

Big (Alejandra) & little (I). ♥
Based on performances.

Chris Brown > Fabolous > O.T Genasis > Kap G > Casanova > Opener & DJ.

Overall, it was such a nice experience and if another Chris Brown concert was to come up again, I will probably jump on it. Thank you for reading it. & If you have me on Snapchat then you didn't miss it. But if you don't have me then go ahead and add me "Liizzzeth"

Review: ASI ES JALISCO BIRRIERIA Restaurant

BACKSTORY: On a Sunday morning, we were on our way to Fontana running some errands. On our way there my dad hands me a business card for a restaurant, "Asi Es Jalsico Birriera." Apparently, one of his' friends recommended it and since we were in town he wanted to try it. & at this point we were all hungry, so we decided to go with it. Yes, I know this is my 3rd birria Restaurant Review.

Asi Es Jalisco Birrieria Restaurant
Asi Es Jalisco Birrieria Restaurant; is located in Fontana, Ca.

Outside Views.

We walked in the Restaurant and the first thing you heard was Live Mariachi. The hostess sat us down and as soon as they sat us down; chips and salsa arrived within seconds on our table along with the menus.

There's only 2 locations: Fontana & Chula Vista

I was so amazed by what was going on throughout the entire restaurant (live music, food coming in and out the kitchen, people cleaning everywhere)  that I was confused by the menu. I usually just order birria with rice and beans but apparently there's no such plate as that. I would've to order everything separate; meaning more money. #NoThankYou. I had to make my dad order my food; because I did not understand the menu AND my Spanish is not the best. So, both my sister & I sacrificed with what we got. Meanwhile, we waited for our food we munched on the chips and salsa. We listened to the Mariachi and conversated between us.

Live Mariachi
Apparently, Mariachi is only on Fridays for dinner. But when we went it was a Sunday; so Friday & Sunday? The second picture is probably the worst quality of all time, but they are in the back singing their hearts out. They charge 3 songs for $25; which I don't think its bad at all. There's roughly six members and two of them are woman. They sang well and knew all the songs people were requesting. #2ThumpsUp.

FOOD!
As soon as the food arrived, I got Olive Garden vibes. No? I mean they served the food right about the same, expect they didn't ask if we wanted cheese, lol.
Rundown of our food:
Top Left: Sisters' Maciza birria (Just meat and soup).
Top Right: Dad's Surtida birria (everything to bone).
Bottom Left: Mom's taquitos (she was tired of eating birria).
Bottom Right: Mine, same as my sisters' Maciza birria (just meat and soup).

Food Talk: Maciza birria was good it wasn't the best but it was good. The tortillas weren't made by hand. The birria had a lot of meat, thank goodness but it didn't feel special. My dad obviously liked his, *eye roll*. He likes anything, really. My sister & I both would choose MEZQUITAL over this. My mother mentioned that the taquitos were good, but also mentioned "it could be the hunger talking."

Our check
Once we were finished with the food, my parents asked for the check. & I kid you not my mouth dropped. My dad said "Oh that's not bad. The food was good." I immediately looked at him and I looked at my mom and I was like "it wasn't that great." I was even more surprised they charged us for refills; since they never mentioned it to us. Apparently, my sisters' & mine were the most expense because it was Maciza (only meat). I guess it was all in the menu but since I was so confused by it I didn't pay close attention. In total the bill came out to be $80 because of tip; and I regret every single dollar my parents wasted.

FINAL THOUGHTS.
Does Liz Recommend? NO! The food had nothing special to it and it was a bit priced for my liking.
Pros: Fast customer service. Live Mariachi.
Cons:  Far in distance. Pricey. Food isn't flavorful.
Out of 5 Stars? 2.5
Last Words: How I said the food was good but it wasn't great; it was nothing special in my opinion. The only cool part about the restaurant is Live Mariachi, but if you don't like that type of music then I honestly recommend saving your money and splurging it somewhere elsewhere.  The exact address:16785 Arrow Blvd Fontana, CA 92335. It's on a corner a bit hidden.
Don’t be afraid and give it a try.

Full Face Review || May Ipsy Glam Bag

Welcome to "Full Face Review"
Full Face Review, is a new series featured in my blog that has everything to do with makeup, but especially with Ispy Glam Bags that I buy and receive each month. Ipsy Glam Bag is a monthly subscription for only $10 each month for 5 beauty products! 5 beauty products that range from mini to full sizes. Plus a little bag that is customized each month. & I personally love Ipsy because majority of the products sent to me I've never owned, so I like to see and try out new things. & If I like them I'll buy repurchase it and if I don't I at least get to say I tried it. Each month I love seeing what everyone receives and how they rate/like the products, but I will actually be doing my makeup with all the products I receive. So, I hope you like my full face review *kisses*

May Ipsy Glam Bag

This month I received:
Benefit Cosmetics: Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel
IT Cosmetics: Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara
Manna Kadar Cosmetics: Radiance Split Pan Bronzer and Highlighter Duo
Caked Makeup: Lip Fondant
Briogeo: Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray
& A Clear Ice Cream Cones & Popsicles bag

Starters: A clean canvas (jk, I already have foundation and concealer on). Don't mind my awkward hand or my crown headband or the fact that I took my pictures outside, haha...

Then: I started off with doing my eyes first. I used my Maybelline Eye Studio Brow Precise Micro eyebrow pencil first to darken and shape them and then I went with Benefit Cosmetics: Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel to fill in any spares spots and set my eyebrows in place as well. After eyebrows I moved onto mascara, I used the IT Cosmetics: Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara. To really see the difference with the mascara, the 2nd picture is my eyelashes without mascara and the 1st with.

Next: I used the Manna Kadar Cosmetics: Radiance Split Pan Bronzer and Highlighter Duo, to bronze up my face and highlight up cheekbones, cupids bow and nose(my specialty). The 1st picture is swatches of the Highlight and Bronzer. & the 2nd picture is with the products on.

After: The 1st picture is a swatch of Caked Makeup: Lip Fondant in the shade: Low Key. & the 2nd and 3rd pictures are the finally full face.

Finally: I sprayed Briogeo: Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray in my damped hair earlier in the day when I was getting ready, but the picture is after it dried up. (Ignore the messy restroom sink).

AFTERMATH & REVIEW:
After a whole day with my Full Face using May Ipsy's Glam Bag, my makeup ended like this. I just hated the fact that I was sick; so I was constantly blowing my nose. But I am here to give you a review:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Benefit Cosmetics: Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel || The fiber gel was to light for me in my opinion; I frankly won't be buying this product in full size just because I feel like I don't have many sparseness in my eyebrows and they felt a lot bolder than the usual. The Gimme Brow does state that its "water-resistant and long-wearing" and I will agree to that. My brows stayed in place all day, props for that. Don't get my wrong though, the product does work just not for me.
IT Cosmetics: Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara || Oh my goodness, I just found my new favorite mascara! I was extremely impressed with this mascara just because many High-End brands have sucky mascara wands. This mascara applied easily & it stayed on all day. It volumized my eyelashes! This mascara is BOMB for the lower lashes.
Manna Kadar Cosmetics: Radiance Split Pan Bronzer and Highlighter Duo || I want to love this product but I cannot. I like the highlighter but the bronzer was a big no for me. Both the highlight & bronzer are pigmented; which I was impressed with but the bronzer had shimmer. I am not a fan of bronzers that have shimmer, but that's just me. The highlight on the other hand was very out there but a little too light for my skin tone. Highlight > Bronzer
Caked Makeup: Lip Fondant || This Lip Fondant was in the color Low Key and let me tell you I did not feel lowkey wearing it, haha. I love the color! It applied so easily and it was very pigmented. It felt lightweight on the lips but I dislike that it felt like powder on the lips. In the future I would purchase another Lip Fondant.
Briogeo: Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning || Okay, let me tell you real quick. I've never heard the brand Briogeo, until Ipsy & I love every product I've received from Briogeo. It smelled like pina colada, bomb! & It actually conditioned my hair, no tangled at all and I was all about it. & My hair wasn't even frizzy; which is another win. I actually already ran out of this conditioner and soon to buy another one.
A Clear Ice Cream Cones & Popsicles bag: || I thought the bag was so cute and prefect for summer. I like the fact that its clear! Like I get to see what's in the bag & the ice creams were a cherry on top.

Overall, May Ipsy Glam Bag? 4/5 Stars.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed my full face review. See you next month for my next full face review!

Nevada | Las Vegas

Las Vegas:

*Take a mind we planned with 2 weeks in advanced & it was a family trip, not a get wild one.

When I was 15 years old, my Godparents promised me to take Vegas once I turned 21. & Well the day came and left. The only weekend we were able to go was this past weekend, May 12-15. The trip included: Godparents, little cousin, mom, sister and I; but it all didn't go as well for me as planned. On May 9th, I was starting to come down with something and on Thursday May 11th, it got completely worse. So off the bat it was already off to a bad start. I had a running nose and a sore throat the entire trip; literally feeling like shit everyday. & to top it all off, I forgot my shoes! I was wearing flip flops and my dad told me we could go back if I wanted to go get my shoes (we were at the corner of our street). But I had said no, because I didn't want to make us late and I completely regretted it!

Anyhow,

Friday (5.12): We arrived Friday afternoon in Vegas and went straight to Tacos El Gordo. My sister and I shared Carne Asada Fries and they were good! The pricing wasn't all that bad; the only bad thing was the ridiculously long line (up to over an hour wait). After eating we checked into our hotel and unloaded everything. Relaxed for a good hour or two and walked a bit of the strip that same afternoon. & Well, since I didn't have shoes, my sister who is 1/2 a size smaller than me let me borrow her vans and damn never again. The were a bit tight and on our way back to the hotel I couldn't make it. My feet were hurting so bad; we had to go to Ross to buy myself shoes. BUT since my feet were hurting and swollen nothing was fitting, so I ended up buying comfortable sandals. #LessonLearned. After the whole drama with my feet we went to the hotel and gambled and ate McDonalds for dinner. By 10ish I was already in bed, dying.

Saturday (5.13): Saturday morning we all went to Denny's for brunch and that was chaotic. The wait was long as well and the customer service sucked!! Going to Denny's wasn't a bright idea, but it was decent. After brunch we went back to the hotel and gambled some more. But after a while, my mom, sister and I decided to go to the pool. The pool was so packed that all you could do was stand because there was no way of you swimming in there. So we aborted that plan and decided to go to the mall. We walked to the mall that was roughly a mile away and decided to hit the food court for some crepes! & That was so disappointing. Those crepes don't compare to any of the crepes I've eaten in my entire life. A waste of 10 dollars, lol. A bit dramatic, but they weren't good. But anyways we went to the mall and shopped until we got called back to the hotel to eat dinner. We ate pizza and wings from the hotel and the wings were so bomb. *inserts crying face* After dinner we all went to M&M World & World of Coca-Cola and came back exhausted.  Pero, once again around 11ish, I was already sound asleep.

Sunday (5.l4): I woke up and bought Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for everyone, but everyone had different plans for breakfast. After breakfast and gambling we headed home and stuck in traffic for hours! In the middle of traffic I got a bad ear ache because of my cold. My ears were hurting so bad, I was literally crying, but not worry I slept most of the ride. & Of course we watched the Chivas game on the road. :) But made it home to relax.

--------------------
Rundown!
I only lost $19.71
I walked 14 miles.
I was blowing my nose every 15 mins.
The food wasn't all that great.
Overall, the trip gets a 7.
& I also, didn't drink at all.

But a BIG THANK YOU to my godparents and parents! ♥
