San Francisco | Our Story

For my birthday celebration, Luis & I explored SF.  I've been to SF many times for events but never really to explore and Luis only been once.  It was a perfect opportunity to explore SF, so let's get to it.

Once arriving we went straight to the Museum of Ice Cream Spectacular Sprinkle and well you can read all about it, here.

After MOIC we went to Black Sugar Boba Bar and we went to The Bird.  The Boba Bar was good but The Bird?  No!  A friend recommended it to me and I was highly disappointed.  It's a quick food spot so the place is packed but the food as well was not the best.  I think by far was the worst.  So, I would not recommend it, but if you've gone did you like it?  After dinner, we explored Union Square.  For our midnight snack, we went to Bob's Donut & Pastry Shop.  WOW! It was so big and delicious too!  We got the original pink donut.  If you've been to Universal Studios and you got the Simpson Donut then it's exactly that but better in my opinion.  It's not too sweet and it's bigger too!
The next morning it was rise and shine.  We woke up early and headed towards Alcatraz.  My entire time in SJ and I had never been to Alcatraz so I was excited.  The boat ride was cold af but I didn't get motion sickness so I think it was a win-win.  Learning about Alacratz and getting to see everything was such an amazing experience.  Thank you honey! ♥

Once we came back to the city we went to Pier 39 and The Exploratorium.  We explored Pier 39 and the first thing was to see the sea lions.  We ate Luigi's Pizzeria, Crepe Cafe, and Doughp (yes, its spelled like that).  They were all soo good.  Unfortunately, I did not get any pictures of it but please trust me when I say it was good!
Next thing we knew we had to run to The Exploratorium.  Also another place I've never been and it was so cool and interactive!  My only thing that bothered was that the kids were everywhere.  I mean I know kids are kids and that's enviable but the parents had no control over them.  The kids had no type of respect.  But all in all, it was a good experience I loved it! I would definitely go back again! -Also, when it came to The Exploratorium since it was all about interactions we only took videos and a couple of pictures here and there. So again, sorry for the lack of pictures.
Afterwards we went for dinner and had curry.  We went back to the hotel and ended our night early because Luis ended falling asleep.  If you're wondering, yes. Yes, I forgot to take pictures.

On Sunday, we had brunch and headed towards the San Francisco Bridge. We were at the Golden Gate Bridge until it was time to go home.  We headed towards San Jose, CA and that same afternoon Luis headed back home to SoCal.

I know I am 6 months late on this post, but it's better late than never ;)  The biggest thank you to Luis for making my birthday so special.

And thank you guys for reading and keeping up with me.  (:

MOIC Spectacular Sprinkle

Welcome to another adventure post.  In April, Luis and I went to San Francisco for the weekend to celebrate my birthday.  To start the weekend, we went to the Museum of Ice Cream.  This was my second time going this year, but Luis' first time.  Compared to the first time, the MOIC was a little different.  The museum got newer, bigger and brighter installments.  As you begin to read, you'll see that it's basically pictures of us, sorry!  Let's begin:
The beginning of the experience is either going down a pink tunnel slide or a set of stairs.  Once you reach the bottom, the first installment is Sweeter Theater.  Its exactly what you think it is, movie theater vibes.  When you walked down the aisle and there's a concession stand.  At the concession stand, they'll hand you an ice cream sandwich while you wait for the activity.  The activity was creating an ice cream name for yourself and talking about the rules of the museum.
The following installment was the Diner.  I loved the Diner.  It's still Marye's Diner.  It also continues to have the same items from the first time I went.  It has diner vibes with a jukebox, long play discs, telephone cord, and the stools.  They also handed out a snack that looked like fries with ketchup.  The "ketchup" was red velvet ice cream and bread fries.  Based on what I saw and tasted.  Not a fan of the bread but the ice cream was sooooo good.  I loved red velvet, I thought it was spot on.
In the Dream, I felt positive vibes.  From the last time I remember,  it was only the letter magnets.  However, this time they added in fortune cookies in the middle along with side clouds coming from the sky.  It was really cute!  Luis and I were playing with the magnets and an employee came behind us and said "oh, that's so cute! Do you want me to take a picture of you guys?"  We said "sure!"  He came out of nowhere and scared us, but I'm glad he captured this moment for us.
So I technically wouldn't call it the Pinata installment, but a party one? I mean that is the vibes I got. I interpreted the clapping hands in two ways.  Those that you grab and you shake to make them clap, do you know what I mean? (I don't know how to explain things). But I also understood it as a party where people are clapping their hands when they're done singing HBD. At first, we were confused about the second part of the installment until we started playing with it, it was the blowy thing. I loved it, it was entertaining.
There was another installment that I'm not 100% what it is called but there's shapes and round things to stand on. When you walk in there was a bunch of candy; it was simple but nice.
The next installment is the same from the previous times, the animal circus.
Rainbow was another installment that was there previously and it also had the little mirrors... I think that's what they're called.
The Mint installment there was cotton candy! Another sweet and simple installment.
I'm stuck between loving and disliking the Sprinkle Pool.  This time around the Sprinkle Pool was the ending of the museum.  I loved that there was no timing on how long you can stay in the Sprinkle Pool but I disliked that it was packed. I felt like there was no structure.  There were little kids and they were throwing the "sprinkles." Oh also! Since the pool is 4x bigger the little sprinkles they had  is not enough for the new installment, so they used bigger "sprinkles."  Once you stepped on them they hurt so much! So, can you imagine the little kids throwing them? OUCH! However, I do like that you had unlimited time in the pool.

That pretty much wraps up my MOIC Spectacular Sprinkle post...This was my second time at MOIC and it was a completely different experience and I loved it. I think all and all it was good. My only issue really was the sprinkle pool, but it's not that serious.  I think everyone should at least go once to the MOIC for the experience, but keep a lookout for our weekend in SF.

Thank you,

Goodbye SJ

S A N  J O S E, C A L I F O R N I A
In 2014, I came to SJSU to get an education and I recently graduated this past May.  SJ has been my home for the past five years and it has now come to an end.  Within the last five years, I went through some of my best and worst moments, experienced some eye-opening shit, and met some amazing people.

I came to SJSU with briefly knowing my roommate since we went to the same high school, and a friend I had here at the time.  I lived 400+ miles away from home and I was ready for the extra freedom.  I lived on campus my first year and I think it was by far the best decision I could’ve ever made.  I got my first tattoo and went to my first rave.  I did many late boba runs and game nights.  There were many DC (Dining Common) trips and yes, Freshmen 15 was real.  For all the times, I got drunk in dorm rooms and almost got caught and that one time, I blacked out and woke up in a shower. [Thank goodness, I’m alive].  I went to my first tailgate, lost my retainers and looked like milk (those that know, know).  There was even a time my roommate and I got fishes for no reason.  And when December would come around, it was time for Christmas in the Park; which soon became a yearly thing.  I came into my first-year meeting so many people.  That year I meet my best friends now whom, I love and cherish.  We all graduated this past year and it was so heartwarming yet so heartbreaking.  I was happy for all of us because we started and ended together, but sad. Sad because I’m sitting here thinking when the next time will be, we see each other again.  I come to realize it won't be 2-3 months, how it would be sometimes because of summer.  We all moved to different parts of the country and I hope we all keep our word to go on vacation once a year to see each other. You guys helped me grow and I cannot thank you guys enough.  I value our friendships and I know we will be reunited together again.

I lived on campus for 2.5 years.  I was lucky enough to get paired up with two girls who were some of my fav roommates.  I spend some of my best time with them.  We had a lot of “Mo-Pleasure,” “Chief Liz,” and “Ling Ling” moments. I grew close to one of them since my second year.  And thank you for all your advice and support, but most importantly thank you for birthing my baby niece. You’re a great mom, dude! I will miss all the Wingstop and boiling crab outings. Within those years I lost friends, failed my first class, and joined Greek Life.  Thankful for all the after-school adventures from going to eat to batting cages to Chuck E Cheese to even watching indoor soccer games.  To the time we drove to San Diego and back in less than a day while stopping in LA.  Especially when I gained a home away from home.  Lived freely when house parties became a thing.  The fun was fun.  Let’s also never forget when broke my foot partying (if you know, you know), I was known as “scooter girl.”  It was one of the dips of my college experiences, but a funny story to tell now.

In San Jose, I got my first job.  I was poor poor with only $20 in my bank account.  I ate a cup of noodles for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for days.  I valued a piece of bread.   I got stalked.  There were a lot of pho runs.  There was a lot of anger at some point and tears.  I felt betrayed.  My obsession with makeup started.  My home away from home was there for me through my toughest times. I would like to say they saw me at my lowest lows.  I gained a whole family, whom I’m so grateful for. Thank you to the family that took me in as one of their own.  Thank you for allowing me to come to your house without knocking.  For opening the doors to me and feeding me during my toughest times.  Thank you for expecting me to be there for birthdays and letting me spend thanksgiving with you guys.  I am forever grateful you considered me as your daughter and sister.  I love you all forever.

My lowest low was when I ended up moving back home for a semester.  I’ve talked about it many times, but I’m happy that that was when I decided to start my blog.

Before continuing at State, I went to New York with my pledge sister and it was by far my favorite place.  I came back to State feeling better than ever.  Yes, many meltdowns happened but I always came on top.  I moved to an apartment which was my home for my last two years. Some friendship grew apart and some grew strong.  USFC Nights were poppin.’  Banda Nights became a thing and after Banda Nights there were the taco truck runs.  Where my only two spots to eat were Bdubs or Pho.  Where target runs were being down every other day.  Having the memory of La Tree going to a rave together.  Celebrating so many birthdays and the majority of them getting out of hand.  Looking back at all the memories and I’m happy I got to experience going to two soccer games, seeing Banda MS for the first time and plenty of first-timer concerts.  A memory that I won't miss was spending money on my worst habits.

During my last year, it was different.  Maybe because I knew once July 2019 was here, I was leaving? In Aug 2018, a friend/5th roommate passed away and it affected me in a way I didn’t think it was.  That was a real unexpected goodbye.  As the year was going by, I began to calm down. I came to my five senses and began getting my shit together x3.  I began focusing on myself and friendships that I hold close to my heart.  I loved that I began a professional job and I saw myself grow from it.  My last year was the hardest as well and I feel like I touched upon that.  However, I made it on top.  I came to SJSU and graduated and I guess my time here is done.

By the time you’re reading this, I have already left SJ and living back at home.

So let’s get to the main event: I want to say thank you to all the people I met and impacted my life one way or another. Thank you for all the adventures, cries, rants, laughter, love and support. Thank you, SJ for allowing me to branch out. I shared the best moments of my life with you and the majority of you guys helped me when I was at my worst. I knew that at the end of the day I could count on you. Moving to San Jose was the best impulsive decision I have ever made AND I know I will eventually see you all, but until then it’s a goodbye from me. THANK YOU and HUGE THANK YOU TO:
