Review | Fenty Beauty: Foundation + Blotting Powder

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you Rihanna's makeup line, Fenty Beauty. Fenty Beauty has been stirring so many pots and has been the most talking about makeup brand in the recent weeks. Rihanna launched with 40 foundations shades, 6 highlights, a gloss, primer, brushes, blotting powder and sheets, sponges, and matching stixes. It was a huge and overwhelming launch. In my case, I ended up getting the Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation and Invisimatte Blotting Powder and I also ended up getting a sample of Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer at Sephora. So, I'll be giving you a full on review using all three products.

The Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer is 32 ML/1.08 Fl Oz. It is pink but it diffuses to your skin after applying it. The reason why I didn't buy it and only got the sample of the primer is because to me its either a hit or miss with primers. The primer claims to stop shine, pore diffusing and smooths out the skin for better foundation application. However, one of the biggest problems I had with Primer + Foundation combo, was that it enhanced my pores. My pores were extremely noticeable. I began to see what was the problem. After different experiments, I realized it was the primer that was making my pores stand out more than normal. So I now use the foundation with a different primer. If you have the primer and you're loving it then I'm happy it worked out for you! Take note that the primer does a strong baby smell. Its also moisturizing which makes your face feel soft. The primer does cost $32.

The Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation is 32 ML equivalent to 1.08 Fl Oz, which is a little above average. The cost of the foundation is $34; I actually find it inexpensive for a foundation that is slightly above 1 fluid ounce. Yes, there is 40 shades, so I do highly recommend getting color matched. There are many different undertones and it makes it difficult to find your match; plus the foundation does oxidize. So be careful when it comes to color matching yourself. This foundation is a medium to full coverage depending how you apply it. With a damped beauty blender, you'll get a medium coverage and with a dry beauty blender you'll get more of a full coverage. I also want to note that I have very oily/combo skin. When I first applied the foundation, I found it to dry extremely fast. Once it dries on you you'll find difficulty to blend it out, so work with it by sections. Other than that it does blend smoothly. I use two pumps for an everyday use. It also has a scent to it, almost as a floral smell. After my first use of the foundation I realized two things: 1. It was extremely lightweight on the skin. As if I was wearing absolutely nothing. I loved it! 2. It lasts! I wasn't shiny at all. However, its not as medium to full coverage as I thought it was going to be. After foundation is set and everything, I do still see redness. But I'm not completely mad at it. The pros definitely outweigh the cons, but I also do not love this foundation. Its more of a like. I've used this foundation for over a week and its starting to grow on me. I am shade 190, its a bit light on me, but with Fall and Winter coming I'll fine.

Talk about magic. The Invisimatte Blotting Powder costs $32 for 8.5g/0.3 oz. Don't be intimated by the white powder; it is actually universal for all skins tones. It. Is. Amazing. With the Pro Filt'r Foundation I found it rare when I was shiny, but when I would just apply it to apply it, I saw a difference. It worked like magic. It made me completely matte! You can also use it when you are not wearing any foundation. I loved this product for sure. No problems either.

Ladies and Gentlemen, that was my review for Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, Invisimatte Blotting Powder and Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer. If you want to give the foundation a try, I do recommend it. Everyone skin types are different and everyone has different opinions. The foundation is the safest thing to try out. For the primer I recommend getting a sample first and trying out to see if you like it, but that's just my opinion. And for the Blotting Powder, if you feel like you need it in your life, get it. If you can deal with being shiny then you're fine. Save your money! These are just my opinions and experiences with the products. How I rate the products on whether which one is best for you 1. Foundation. 2. Blotting Powder. 3. Primer.

See you next time.

Yours Truly,
Lizzy.

  1. Yaas girl! Great review, I've been tempted to buy the foundation but I haven't had a chance. I originally thought I only wanted the foundation but now I really want to try the blotting powder.

  3. So many people keep raving about this foundation especially those with oily skin like myself. I haven't really been wearing any foundation the last five months or more but this foundation has really caught my attention. I'm torn between trying this one or the new Too Faced peaches and cream one. I definitely want to try the Fenty powder!

    1. Months late reply: I'm not a fan anymore of the Fenty Foundation. Have you tried any of them?
