Hora De Chisme: the last year

Let's catch up, shall we? With a little Hora De Chisme,

It’s been about a year since the last time I was here…soooo, let me tell you what has happened since then.

Let’s rewind it back to April of 2024 when I started my reading journey.  Reading was something that never interested me before, so color me surprised when it suddenly caught my interest.  I remember buying my first two books on my birthday at Barnes & Nobles.  And since then, I have no regrets and a huge collection.  I’ve come to love reading so much that I started writing my own book in July.  However, that's something I don't want to touch upon just because I might never finish it.

That following month, I  decided to help out with the laundry.  (Luis does the laundry, always!)  It was dark and got distracted and I ended up stepping wrong on my way down the steps.  I ended up twisting my ankle and sprained my foot.  I ended up going to the ER because I could've sworn my foot was broken.  Updated it wasn't but it was heavily bruised.  I struggled to put weight on my foot for two weeks and even when I was able to I was still in so much pain.  Yes, I spent my Mother's Day crimpled and on a scooter.

In June, I ended up taking a pregnancy test. Believe it or not, to my surprise I was pregnant.  I say that because for the past three months I was taking pregnancy tests and they were all negative.  I won’t go too much in-depth because I have YouTube videos on that.

Fastward to the last months of the year.  In August, we celebrated our 6 year anniversary.  We went to Vegas for fun because we do have a toddler and our activities are limited.  We ended up going to interactive museums and she really enjoyed it.  We also tried different foods and desserts since we're all foodies.  We went to the OC Fair since that was our "first date" and its our little traditon. My baby turned two in October and we celebrated her with an Encanto theme birthday party.  Next thing we knew it was Thanksgiving, Christmas and HELLO New Year.

Now we are in March, and we are a family of four.  We are still trying to adjust with a newborn and our terrible two toddler.  Theres some good day and some bad and at the end of the day we're just trying to survive.  I however, I'm excited to see what the rest of the year brings.  Well that's my life, thank you so much for spending time with me I hope you enjoyed it cause I know I did.

Reintroduction

 Let’s do a reintroduction.

Hi, my name is Lizzeth, but everyone and their mommas like to mispronounce it; so please just call me Liz.  I’m twenty-eight and an Aries baby.  I’m currently a sahm with two under two, (Not for the weak).  I consider myself an extrovert introvert.  I’m a shy person if approached, but once you get my talking trust me you won’t be able to shut me up.  I’ve been blogging since the end of 2016 and vlogging since 2020, both on and off.  To date, both blogging and vlogging are my favorite hobbies, and I wish I never stopped.  As for my other hobby…making earrings has slowly decline.  As much as I love creating, the time is not there. I however, recently discovered my love for reading and would love to start or join a book club.  I started reading physical copies, and now it’s been all ebooks.  To be honest, give me a sweet treat and a book and I’ll be happy.  Lately, finding my happiness has been an ongoing struggle, so here I am fulfilling my need to express myself through my blog.  I’m on a journey to finding my happiness and I’m learning that it’s through consistency.  Consistency is my current goal in whatever that looks like.  I have the habit of picking something up and then dropping it for whatever reason.  I do however hope I can stick to one of many goals this year.  So, here’s to a new journey of trying new things.  And, thank you to those who’ve stuck around from the beginning and will continue to do so.  And to the new ones here, welcome.  πŸ«ΆπŸΌ

If you would like to get to know me a bit more I do have facts about myself (: 10 Facts About Me & 10 Facts About Me, Part 2.

10 Facts About Me pt. 2

1. I did folklorico dance in elementary. In the 6th grade we had to learn how to dance folklorico to perform in front of the entire school + parents. I remember I wore at purple skirt and tiny little heels. & Ever since then I've been wanting to dance folklorico again.
2. Wings & fries are my go to.  Don't even get my started on wings and fries. I will never turn either of them down; my ride and die foods! Wings & fries are the way to my heart. Mango Habanero well done wings and any well-done fries will do the trick.
3. I hate repeating myself. If you make my repeat myself more than twice, then we have a problem. & I will let you know to "forget about it" because at that point you have probably already irritated me.
4. "Check On It" was my ringtone in the 4th grade. I had my first cellphone in the 4th grade and my favorite song back then was "Check on it" by Beyonce. Best believe I spent my parents' money on that ringtone. #NoRegrets
5. I've only had one hangover. OMG! So, I started drinking since I was around 9 years old? (Possibly younger). I sometimes would get drunk, but I would always wake up perfectly fine. BUT freshmen year of college, I was soooo drunk! That night/morning I woke up in the shower with the water running; I'm still trying to figure out how I survived. But that hungover lasted me 2 days and I wasn't able eat at all. It was the worst! & that has still been my only hangover since.
6. I never passed my behind the well exam. (Drivers License). LMFAO! Every time I tell this story no one believes me, but here we go. So, my very first try I didn't even get to exit the parking lot because I was disqualified. I was disqualified because I hit the side walk. Two weeks later, I went again but to a different DMV and I ended up failing because I "didn't look over my shoulder." At this point my mom was mad & annoyed with me. She said that I had to wait until I was ready. & Then a week and half later, my grandpop walks in the house claiming I got ticket. My parents were tripping out until I opened it & it turned out that I had received my Drives License. Craziest part, was receiving it without even passing my exam. *DAB*
7. I've had 3 cars, so far. When I first started driving I got passed down my mom's old car. I drove a white 1994 Toyota Corolla in hella good condition. After having it for 6 months, my grandpop wanted to trade cars. So, I gave up my 1994 Toyota Corolla and I got a 2004 Toyota Corolla Sport. & In mid march I had mentioned to my parents that I wanted a truck and they said I was crazy. But after having it for 6 months in May, my dad took me to school; which I thought was weird because I drove myself there. & After school when it came to my dad picking me up, he picked me up in my current truck now. My parents got me the truck I saw in the dealer & now that's my baby, 2007 Chevrolet Silverado.
8. I started wearing make up in the 7th grade. I began to wear mascara in the middle of 7th grade and that would be the only thing I would wear, smh. I actually didn't start wearing anything less until the 9th grade.
9. I saw the entire Twilight Saga in theaters.  One day in high school my mom took me out of 2 hours into the day & we went to the theaters. We had tickets to watch the entire Twilight Saga that day. Since the second part to Breaking Dawn was premiering, they had a special. So it started off at 10am watching Twilight and we came out the theaters at 1am finished watching Breaking Dawn part.2 It was a good but long experience.
10. I used to play soccer when I was younger. I began to play soccer when I was in the 2nd grade up until I was in the 4th grade. 2nd & 3rd I played in a league in Orange County. & in the 4th grade I played soccer in elementary school since we had moved. But ever since I started break my bones my dad thought I was too fragile, so he made me stop. Until freshmen year of High School, I started to play soccer again but once season started, I quit.

Monthly Goals: March's spring cleaning

So every month I have goals, if you've read Reflection of 2016 & New year goals for 2017 , you know what I'm talking about. I talked about my January's Goals and my February's Goals. I'm here to only talk about one of March's Goal: Spring cleaning. I like to hoard when it comes to clothes, but then again I tend to clean my clothes out every four months.  I went through my entire clothes and I found some interesting pieces:
I went through and I found these 11 tops that  I've never worn before except for one. If you guys know me, know that I always complain that I never have clothes. The entire bottom picture (8 shirts) have tags on them still. The mustard top on the top left hand corner I only wore it once and that was for a picture that lasted 2 minutes. I took off the tag off of two shirts  because I WAS going to wear them but I ended up changing my mind. Do you have any shirts you never worn before?

So this is a picture of some of my shirts and skirts that I have in the same design. I know I talked about buying the same shirt design, but just in different colors in, 10 Facts About Me. Can I explain why I have the most basic skirts and shirts? I used to work at Sunglass Hut, and I always had to wear "professional clothes." Yes, I had to buy skirts because I didn't own any. So, I bought myself four skirts all in different colors, I was desperate. & as well as the five tops because like always I was never prepare for something "professional." Although these shirts are not professional, all I had to do was tuck it in and wear a cardigan, ha. Do you have any repeat clothing?

Fun Fact: Every time I have a "big" event I have to always go buy a "top." Why? I honestly have no idea, I just like to believe I have no clothes, and that is the reason why I need to shop. So, when I was going through my clothes I realized some of the shirts I've only worn once. I tried to remember when I worn them and somehow its because of a party. The funny thing about these 8 shirts is that that have all been up on Instagram. I guess you can say if I already posted on IG I wont wear it again? I mean I don't know if this theory is correct, but after realizing that I am going to start wearing these shirts more often. *eye roll* Do you have any piece of clothing that you've only worn once?

Advice to self vVv.

After cleaning and throwing away clothes, I ended up with:
Bottoms (Pjs, shorts, sweats): 20
Jeans: 9
Shorts: 10
Skirts: 6
Sweaters: 12
T-shirts: 17
Tops: 74

Have you done your spring cleaning?

Five Broken Bones, One Dumb Girl

In my 10 Facts About Me blog, I've mentioned that I broke five of my bones: left leg, right arm, left arm 2x, and my left foot. Many don't know how I broke them or they only know about the most recent one. Not to worry thought, I'm here to share with you my fragile bones stories:

Left Leg:
I was five years old at the time. It was during one night that I was playing with my little cousins Jesse and Jasson. & we played the entire afternoon and night, but towards the end... Have you ever heard about the, "Five little monkeys jumping on the bed?" Well honestly, that's what happened. Jesse & I were jumping on the bed, when he decided to jump from the bed to a set of drawers. The drawer was at least a foot higher than the bed. & well I saw Jesse (cousin) jump from the bed to the drawers, so I TRIED it as well. TRIED, because I obviously failed. πŸ˜ͺ Yeah, I didn't make the jump so I completely crashed into the drawers. Right after my leg was hurting and I couldn't get up. My uncle carried me out to the living room and waited for my parents to get home. The next day I was taken to the doctors when I learned my foot was broken. I also remember going to Kindergarten in a wheel chair! 🌚

Right Arm:
During a summer I was sleeping over at my grandparent's house; it was either morning or afternoon, because it was only grandma and I. Grandma was in the kitchen cooking it up, while I was in the living room. So, my grandparent's couches had a little table attached to them where the cup holders are at... Know what I'm talking about? (shown to the left)  Well picture that couch and the little plastic chair all the little kids had. (shown on the left). So I was standing on the dam chair and it became slippery. So I ended up slipping from the chair and fell on to the couch's table. & Well I cried my ass off and I told my grandmother that it felt broken. She panicked, but didn't believe me. My grandfather came home from work to help my grandmother take me back to my parents' house. & All My grandfather did was shake my hand (arm attached) up and down and said "its not broken. its not broken." THE MOST PAINFUL SHIT OF MY LIFE = how I broke my right arm.  Let me tell you, HE still laughs about it till this day, πŸ™„

Left Arm (First time):
I was in the fifth grade and we were playing basketball for PE. I mean that's pretty self explanatory. The entire class played basketball and we got divided into teams. At the time, I had the ball you know just running with it until a girl (I will not mentioned names) body slammed me for the DAM BALL! I fell to the ground and landed on my left arm. I got up and I immediately felt the pain . & That's how I broke my left arm. Can I just say, IT WAS A DAM PE GAME, SMFH.

Left Arm (Second time):
Months after the basketball game, Jesse (cousin) and I decided to ride our bikes to school. We were both in elementary, I was in sixth grade and he was in fourth. That morning, we rode our bikes and Jesse was in front of me. We passed through the street and we came across a side walk. I knew that I had to jump the side walk, but Jesse wasn't going fast enough so I failed. I didn't jump and felt my arm's pain. I got off the bike real quick and I told Jesse to walk with my bike because I couldn't ride it,  anymore. So we both walked our bikes to school and as soon as the bell rung I walked to the nurses office. I was perfectly fine. They called my mom to pick me up. I was perfectly fine. My mom walked through the nurse's office. I began to cry. I became a little girl. She asked "why are you crying?" I said: "because I broke my arm again and you're going to get mad!" Mom: "I'm not mad. Let's go to the doctors and get you another cast! OOOOH, but let's tell your dad" GAAAAHDAAAAAM, I cried but that's how I broke my left arm.

Left Foot:
THE MOST RECENT! It all went down, March 2016. I had gone out to a party on a Thursday. I'm going to cut to the chase on this one. But on Thursday night I got STUPID DRUNK! I pretty much blacked out. Magz and I were walking back from the party around 3 am. I would like to believe the party was on 24th street and we lived on 10th, so we walked 14th streets. No, we didn't call an Uber because they were expensive at the time. So, we walked home. On our way home, I stepped wrong and twisted my ankle (no I didn't fall).  I made it home and went to sleep, & I didn't feel any pain. I woke up that same morning early to shower and get ready because I had a midterm. Yeah, I know I partied the night before an exam. I really just thought I sprained my ankle. I couldn't walk. It was THE most painful shit of my life x3! I called up Magz to help me walk to class & I took my exam. After I took my exam I limped to the Wellness Center, at State. That's how my drunk ass broke my fifth and praying last bone of my life!! *The pictures above were taken place last year, when I had a broken foot & I was known as La Scooter.  AND I'll have to say, this is the most embarrassing YET most unbelievable story, smh.

I hope you laughed a little and read about my fragile ass. Btw, I get made fun of by my family for breaking so many bones, ha. Its all good though. Now let's hope I don't break anymore.

Everyone is asking...

Hi Everyone,

So, I have officially been blogging for a little bit over two months and its been going well. However, family and friends have been asking me the following questions, (you'll read below).  & Well, I sometimes find it hard to explain or they just look at me like *you're wasting your time* type of look/stare, if that makes sense? Well anyways, I am here to answer your questions:

  • "Why did you start a blog?"
The "why" part was always hard for me to explain at the beginning, but I realized that I was overthinking it. I started my blog because I honestly had nothing else better to do on December 17, 2016. I remember coming back from work tired and talking to my roommate at the time of starting a blog, just because. She told me to go for it, because I had nothing to loose. Why? Because in the summer I went through a rough time & to take things off my mind I had made a new Instagram (that is now deleted) and started posting random pictures. So, after going through random blog pages I stubble upon "Blogger" & well that night I made and posted my first blog, A Goodbye, but forever in my heart. πŸ˜„

  • "What's the purpose of your blog?"
At the beginning of my blog, I will admit I did not have a purpose. Everything I do, I do for fun. I still do, actually. But "the purpose" of my blog is to write about my experience and inform others about some lifestyle things that I've come across, food (lots of it), random reviews of new places, and updates about my life. The reason why I put "quotation marks" is because although my blog does have a meaning behind it, I still do it for fun. But then again, you never know...one day I can just stop blogging.

  • Why do you post about ____?"
I post about anything and everything at the same time. Everything I come across that in a way is "new" to me, I'll post or any random things I like to share that people may not know. I like to inform and give my opinion (everyone knows that). πŸ˜—

  • "What's going to be your next post?"
LOL, I have no idea honestly. I post whatever comes to mind. Why? Because I lack creativity, haha. So, if I think/come up with something then I'll most likely post it. Some are currently up in the works, though. (:

  • "Every when do you post?"
That's is honestly a good question, I usually like to post on Thursdays and sometimes Sundays, but in reality I post whenever I am finished with a blog. You guys might think that its not hard, but this is low key difficult. It's time consuming. Thinking, if a blog is worthy to post or not always comes to mind. BUT writing and posting on the same day is such a good feeling.

  • "Are you planning to expand?"

Lol expand what? So recently I've been asked if I have a YouTube channel. I don't! & I don't plan on having one at the moment or anytime soon or even at all. I am a very shy person and for people to ask me that, amazes me. How I said I do this for fun, but I wouldn't miss an opportunity in the future, if that makes sense?

Your questions are now answered, if you have any more just go ahead and ask. I'll share right about everything. & down here below are some of the saved Instagram pictures I had posted.
